Reds advance to semifinals

The Newark Reds Varsity boys baseball team advanced to the Class A semifinals with a 8-3 win over Monroe on Friday night. Newark's Troy Ludolph, seen here in action, tossed a five-hitter in pitching the complete game. Anthony Mashewske went 2 for 2 on the day including a two run inside the park home run. Newark improved to 13-10 on the year.

Leader Kolb Meets With Geneva High Student

New York State Assembly Minority Leader Brian M. Kolb (R,C-Canandaigua) (pictured, left) recently met with a junior from Geneva High School, Caroline McCulloch, during the League of Women Voters of New York State Students Inside Albany Conference Day. The Students Inside Albany Conference included Caroline shadowing Leader Kolb during a typical afternoon to see firsthand the daily routine of her local New York State Assemblyman. Students Inside Albany is designed for high school students from across the state to learn about New York State government and the process by which public policy is developed.

Reds Win Thriller In Gananda

The Newark Reds varsity boys lacrosse team used a 4-0 run to defeat the number two seeded Gananda Blue Panthers 12-11 in Class C Section Five action at Gananda. Newark's Andrew Garrett and Evan Knapp tallied four goals each for the winners. Newark's Devon Lewis is seen in action here for the Reds. Newark takes on Aquinas on Saturday at Waterloo.

Newark's Anthony Mashewski pitched five strong innings allowing just one hit in the Reds win. Newark's Jose Santell was four for five at the plate with three runs batted in.
